About Us

We love Granite.

The Granite Preservation Committee is comprised of nineteen Granite Community residents who are interested in seeing Granite's character preserved. All of us have seen the area change dramatically in recent years and are concerned for what the future may bring to the area should annexation into Sandy occur. Our aim is to protect the interests of the residents- the character, culture, history, legacy, and natural beauty of the land.

Our Story

How we came to be. House Bill 330 was passed. As part of that bill a notice was sent out to all property owners in the unincorporated islands of Salt Lake County.  After attending an info session a few of our members decided to put out a call for those interested in pursuing the feasibility of  incorporating the unincorporated Granite islands into Granite City.  We answered the call and the Granite Preservation Committee was established.
